FYI, I inquired about getting a subscription to BSD Mag in the mail here in Canada… I got a reply saying they are no longer publishing the paper version, only the electronic version and it’s now free. Looks like they pay their bills with a little bit of advertising inside the magazine, hope they make enough to stay in business. A few prominent BSD and Unix writers in there, or at least people I’ve heard of before. The articles are on a wide range of topics and seem to be generally pretty good quality. Their website could use some work though, it can be confusing at times to navigate. :) I have no affiliation to them, just happy to have found their mag that focuses on BSD.
