Comments for FreeBSD - the unknown Giant

FreeBSD is a free, open-source and UNIX-like operating system. Though relatively unknown, it’s a powerful “work-horse”, capable of coping with massive work-loads whilest remaining fast, ultra-stable and rock-solid. Blogging about FreeBSD and systems based on this most versatile, safe and secure OS, I want to generate more interest in FreeBSD and its dependants.

It happened to me once and it was quite complicated to discover this even though it's similar to linux. I agree you should put the console as insecure but then what? You can use a boot cd with a portable cd drive so the box is more protected. Any other ideas?

And this would be a solution that makes Firefox only crash 15 times a day? My experience with running the Flash plugin as a Linux plugin for Firefox, or by running Linux Firefox with the Linux plugin, is that it is not stable at all. :-(

Thank you very much for spreading the word and, in general for this site. The lack of (near-) native flash support was especially difficult during recent US elections, when so much of campaigning has moved to candidates' sites & places like Youtube.

I look forward to an open form of flash... one day. Until then, this is very good news.
